Coffee filter flowers!

Hello craftsters!

After a long hiatus due to finals and general grad-student stress, Broke Craftster is back. I actually have quite a few Pinterest accomplishments to share, I just haven't gotten around to posting about them. So, here we go!

Coffee Filter Peonies

Inspiration:

My version:
Cost: about $5 for floral tape and wire. As two graduate students, we obviously have tons of coffee filters.

Rating: Excellent

Comments: These turned out awesome! Find the tutorial here. The instructions call for 2 different sizes of coffee filters, but since I only had the larger size I just cut some of them down. I only used 8 filters (it calls for 10), since my flowers looked fluffy enough and were getting a bit hard to manage. The only difficulties I had were keeping all of the filters jammed up enough at the top and wrapping the floral wire, which is much more difficult than you might think. They look awesome and I'm planning to make some more.
